Preventing, Detecting, and Recovering Improper Payments

This report summarizes the Office of the Inspector General’s audit work related to the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) efforts to prevent, detect, and recover improper payments, which OIG has identified as a major management challenge for SSA since Fiscal Year 2002.
