Objective: To assess the effectiveness of the Social Security Administration’s Old-Age, Survivors and Disability Insurance overpayment collection efforts for payments issued to representative payees after the beneficiary’s death. We also reviewed overpayments made to these same representative payees before the beneficiary’s death.
