We issued this report to assess the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) (1) completeness, timeliness, quality, and accuracy of Fiscal Year (FY) 2017 second quarter financial and award data it submitted for publication on USASpending.gov and (2) implementation and use of the Government-wide financial data standards established by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and Department of the Treasury (Treasury). In addition, we evaluated SSA’s compliance with Treasury’s Digital Accountability and Transparency Act of 2014 (DATA Act) Implementation Playbook, Version 2.0, Steps 5 through 8.
