Office Affiliation: The Office of Investigations

NEWPORT NEWS - A woman charged with collecting her late grandMother’’s Social Security benefits for more than 13 years was arraigned Tuesday in federal court.

Yvette A. Disnew, 47, of Newport News stole more than $152,000 from the government, according to a federal indictment.

Disnew’s grandmother, Carrie Lee Mason, died April 12, 1999, her obituary said. She was 87.
