Oregon Woman Fraudulently Negotiated Her Incarcerated Husband’s Checks

An Oregon woman negotiated her husband’s Title II Social Security checks during his incarceration from September 2008 through May 2011.  His wife failed to notify SSA of his incarceration and instead negotiated his monthly checks totaling $29,586. OCIG entered into a settlement agreement including a $10,000 penalty and a $29,047 assessment, for a total recovery of $39,047.
