Tracy B. Lynge
Acting Assistant Inspector General for External Relations
Tracy B. Lynge serves as the Acting Assistant Inspector General for External Relations. In this capacity, Ms. Lynge is responsible for publicizing the OIG’s work and message to stakeholders including the U.S. Congress, media outlets, and the public. Ms. Lynge manages a staff of public affairs specialists who maintain the OIG website and social media; respond to inquiries from congressional staff, the media, and public citizens; write speeches, and design OIG publications. Ms. Lynge previously served as Deputy Assistant Inspector General for External Relations and OIG Executive Officer. She came to the OIG in 2004 as a writer-editor in the Office of Investigations, and later served as the Inspector General’s principal speechwriter. Ms. Lynge began her public service career as a Presidential Management Fellow with the Social Security Admininstration (SSA) in 2000, and held a series of increasingly responsible positions in SSA's Office of Policy and the Office of Program Development and Research. She has won several awards for distinguished service, including a 2009 SSA Commissioner’s Citation. She holds a Master of Science in International Affairs from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Arts cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
